Trident ID (TRusted IDENTity) is the name given to the new identification cards that are replacing the legacy ID cards which were suspectible to forgery and durability issues.

In the future, residents will also be able to use their Trident ID to pay for bus fares on routes served by the Barbados Transport Board. This is possible because Trident ID cards support contactless technology.
